Hi All,
It's been several weeks since our last Apache Karaf 2.2.x patch update. During this time we have collected 12 resolved issues. I'd like to schedule in a Karaf 2.2.8 RC build for mid to late June time frame, which should allow enough time for currently in progress issues to be resolved. Current high lights of this patch include updates to Pax Web 1.0.11, Pax-Logging 1.6.7, and Jansi 1.9. As we have the 2.3.x branch, I do not expect to see new features appear on the 2.2.x line. I do not believe producing this patch will impact development efforts on any of the other branches or sub projects. Cheers, Jamie |

Hi Jamie,
+1 There is no Pax web 1.0.12 in the queue so I'm fine with this. regards, Achim 2012/6/11 Jamie G. <[hidden email]>: > Hi All, > > It's been several weeks since our last Apache Karaf 2.2.x patch > update. +1 from me too; nevertheless I think you should add the aries bug-fix
upgrades to your list of important upgrades too; those will make such things as offline cxf with blueprint work! Hi Jamie,
Agree with that but IMHO we have some issues to fix before: KARAF-1521 KARAF-1410 KARAF-1392 KARAF-1386 KARAF-1327 On the other hand, I think: - Karaf 2.3.0 will be ready to release as soon as Felix ConfigAdmin 1.4 will be used (I will do that this afternoon) - I'm working on Karaf trunk (around sub-shell) to be able to create the karaf-3.0.x branch and make a first RC My schedule proposal is: - Karaf 2.2.8 => 2 days to fix the pending issues, we can plan the cut off for Wednesday, 13rd - Karaf 2.3.0 => same plan as 2.2.8, why not cut off a first release on Thursday, 14th - Karaf 3.0.0.RC1 and 3.0.x branch, I plan to cut off that Friday evening or over the week end WDYT ? I need to have sshd release out for 2.3.0.
I've also fixed a bug in fileinstall so it may be a good idea to include it in 2.2 and 2.3. I can start the release process this week. The sshd process has been started.
I'll try to do fileinstall and felix utils (which is needed) this week. Btw, I also plan to release jline 2.7 this week which includes a couple of fixes and enhancements, so that could be included in 2.3 and 3.0 too. +1 waiting for FileInstall bug fix for Karaf 2.2.8.
+1 waiting for FileInstall and jline bug fix for karaf 2.3.0. As to the list of issues for 2.2.8, lets bump the remaining issues to 2.2.9. Regarding Karaf 3.0.0.RC1 and 3.0.x branch; when trunk is branched to 3.0.x, trunk will become 3.1.0-snapshot? Looking forward to getting karaf 3 on the road towards its full RC status. Should we add to the release notes something along the lines of "3.0.0.RC1 is considered a beta trail release of Karaf 3.0.x"?, just to ensure everyone is aware that this release is not for production use?
